Todd Radunsky was born in Chicago Ill in 1968. His marriage to photography
began at the age of 18 when he went to a concert armed with a friends camera.
For his whole life, Todd yearned to be a trial lawyer, and went to college
with his sights set on that goal. Then one fateful day in 1987 Todd borrowed
a friends camera and took it to see a favorite band. A day later, he saw
his images from that show. The images were so promising, and Todd was so
blown away by the power photography held, that he stopped taking classes
aimed at becoming a lawyer, and began attending a new college, in order
to learn how to aim his camera instead. He left Champaign Illinois where
he was attending classes, and returned home to Chicago to attend Columbia
College, one of the top photography schools in the country.
At Columbia, Todd got lucky enough to study under his mentor, Pulitzer Prize
winning photojournalist and lead photographer for the Chicago Sun Times,
John H. White. In addition Todd studied all aspects of photography, and
shot many different events ranging from a peaceful day in the studio shooting
still life, to the mayhem and chaos of abortion rallies and gulf war demonstrations.
After graduating from Columbia with a degree in photojournalism, Todd immediately
relocated to Boulder Colorado where he founded Visual Concepts Photography
Inc. After starting his photography company, Todd became the house photographer
at the Fox Theater in Boulder, one of the USA's premier, concert venues.
In addition to the Fox, Todd also does the House Photography at the Boulder
Theater, another great venue which hosts the national radio show E-Town.
In 1999 Todd started photographing concerts for the world known company,
Bill Graham Presents, as a house photographer at the Fillmore Auditorium
in Denver. Todd photographs between 150 and 200 shows a year, working for
bands both within the United States, and internationally. Todd shoots a
huge variety of shows ranging from light jazz and classical, the heaviest,
ear smashing rock ever heard. He has shot pictures to grace the covers and
pages of many albums, on such great record companies as Sony, and SCI Fidelity.
Recently Radunsky's work has been exhibited widely in galleries, and concert
venues, and has appeared in numerous publications around the country. The
scope of Todd's work has widened with the addition of working directly with
many bands, photographing intimate moments, and memories.
When not photographing talented artists, Todd can be found, shooting portriats
on location, or even more likely hiking through the mountains or desert,
taking pictures to add to his already huge portfolio of landscape photography.
Even though this website is dedicated to showing Todd's portfolio of musical
artists, Todd will have another website soon showing off his many other
images. Photojournalism, portrait, and landscape photography as well as
the work he's done for such world known companies as Janus funds and Invesco.
Look for Todd to open up a studio/gallery in 2001. |
